What is The Diabetes Skills & Confidence (DiSkCo) Builder?

This is a local programme of support for you/your team/your PCN to understand and fill diabetes clinical skills gaps.

What does it involve?

  • An easy-to-use competency assessment for an individual/team to complete
  • Matching needs to a wide variety of relevant free local diabetes training
  • One-to-one advice on meeting training needs, tailoring and optimizing training for your team
  • In-practice clinical teaching and support from diabetes specialist facilitators

Who is it for?

Everyone in the clinical team delivering diabetes services: Healthcare Support Workers, Nurses, GP’s, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Personalised Care roles – anyone involved in diabetes care

What sort of training?

Wide range of training: bite-sized e-learning, remote delivered live sessions, face to face, accredited and non-accredited, across all levels from novice to advanced primary care expert, and for all clinical aspects from diabetes and annual review to advanced insulin management and delivering patient education….and everything in between.
