Medical Secretary/Administrator – Praze GP Surgery

We are looking for an experienced Secretary/Administrator to join our happy Practice Team here at our modern purpose built premises at Praze Surgery.

• To provide an efficient, accurate and timely audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals through the on-line booking system, completion of appropriate forms/templates and general correspondence.
• To maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible, secure and accurate.
• To retrieve medical records to assist with the completion of medical/insurance reports.
• File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
• To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
• To maintain the computerised clinical system in an accurate and secure manner.
• To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
• To provide cover for members of the Admin Team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
• To ensure administrative and clerical duties within the practice are carried out in accordance with practice guidelines and policies.
• To receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.

Teamwork is essential within this role and the post holder must be flexible in supporting colleagues and be able to manage a varied and challenging workload.
