We are currently welcoming ‘Expressions of Interest’ from General Practice Nurses (GPN’s) to work in West Cornwall.

Contractual Hours: Varied to suit individual preferences

Who are Kernow Health CIC

We are a Community Interest Company, supporting General Practice and the delivery of Primary Care Services at scale throughout Cornwall.

Established in May 2011 by a group of Cornwall Practices, we are a GP owned provider organisation and deliver several NHS contracts, which include Cornwall 111 Integrated Urgent Care Service, School Immunisation Programme, Children’s Eating Disorder Service and the Cornwall Training Hub.

In addition to the above, we actively recruit for a plethora of roles across a range PCN’s, which means we have an extremely appealing portfolio of employment options for GPN’s to explore. Ultimately, Cornwall is one of, if not the most beautiful location in the UK, which makes for a great playground to explore when you are not treating patients.

Where will I be working?
West Cornwall ICA covers 4 primary care networks: North Kerrier East, North Kerrier West, Penwith and South Kerrier, and the Isles of Scilly. It provides services to a total patient population of approximately 185,000, with Penwith PCN being the largest, supporting 77,665. West Cornwall has several community hospitals, including Helston, Camborne Redruth, and the main acute hospital in Truro. It also has some fantastic beaches such as St Ives, Sennen and Porthleven, rural villages including St Just, and the Lizard, coastal harbours in Marazion and Penzance, and old mining towns such as Camborne. Not forgetting the Isles of Scilly.

So, what’s the offer?

Working as a Practice Nurse in West Cornwall we can offer you:

  • Access to subsidised CPD opportunities and a range of other free training courses through Cornwall Training Hub, including spirometry, diabetes, cardiovascular and personalised care
  • A range of Fellowship opportunities in education, leadership, or clinical specialist areas if you are in your first year of qualification.
  • Opportunities for mentoring, or development opportunities to become a mentor and help mentor newly qualified nurses.
  • Portfolio working opportunities, including with the CCG, Out of Hours, in line with service need.
  • Flexible working opportunities
  • Opportunities for specialist interest roles
  • Educational Facilitator opportunities

So, if any of the above floats your boat, and you are interested in joining a growing team and working alongside an array of talented professionals who will help you to develop both personally and professionally, please send a copy of your CV to [email protected], alternatively you can contact Ian directly to discuss your requirements and pitch any questions you may have – 07881255296
