First Contact Practitioner- Specialist Physiotherapist – Bosvena & 3 Harbours PCN

Summary

The role will be based across our practices in Lostwithiel, Fowey, Bodmin and St Blazey and will offer the successful candidates the opportunity to join our General Practice teams as part of a Multi-disciplinary Duty Team approach to managing the on-the-day demand.

Main purpose of the job:

To work as an autonomous First Contact Practitioner within Primary care; providing a high standard of specialist MSK assessment of patients in a variety of primary care locations. To be an expert clinician and work as an independent practitioner working within GP surgeries alongside surgery staff and GP’s. This will involve seeing patients presenting with an MSK condition on a first contact basis, without prior contact with their GP, in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan. To act as a source of expertise on the management of patients within the MSK speciality and provide an advisory service to Primary Care Staff. This is a clinical role however training and data gathering will form a part of the role, helping to develop the clinical models for the service. Post holders will work in partnership with Advanced Practitioners to develop more effective clinical pathways and services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Primary Care Network Musculoskeletal team; you will work with professional colleagues, and there will be opportunities to develop further skills including non-medical prescribing, as part of the First Contact Practitioner National Roadmap.

Full time post – 6 weeks annual leave + BH
