Cornwall Training Hub are delighted to launch our second Front Line Development Programme, virtually delivered throughout Autumn / Winter 2023. We recognise that working on the Front Line in General Practice has never been more challenging as patients’ expectations and contact numbers have increased. This programme is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge to manage these challenges and help build your confidence.
This training will be delivered by The Development People, and Dr Rebekah Gibbons and Dr Campbell Murdoch. The Development People are a southwest based company who are passionate about supporting those on the front line and already deliver similar training for other Training Hubs nationally. Dr Rebekah Gibbons has worked as a GP in Cornwall for nearly 20 years who has a particular interest in holistic health and wellbeing. Dr Campbell Murdoch is a GP with a special interest in prevention and metabolic health. Outside of the NHS he provides education, training, and coaching to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing, including in the workplace.
This exciting programme is aimed at operational staff that deal directly with patients, for example – Reception / Patient Co-ordinators / Care Navigators / Admin. To be eligible to attend, you must be working in primary care in Cornwall.
Delivered over 4 virtual sessions, this programme will cover the following topics:
- Skills for Confidently Signposting (session 1)
- Positive and Proactive Communications for Effective Call Handling (session 2)
- Productive Conversations in Challenging Situations (session 3)
- Building Resilience (session 4)
There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues in other practices.
We would strongly encourage you to attend all 4 sessions in the programme for full benefit. However, they are also available as standalone modules and can be booked as such.
If you need to cancel a booked place on a course, please do so giving sufficient notice for the place to be reallocated. As per our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to charge for places cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the course start (unless otherwise stated), or failure to take up the place on the day of the course. This applies to both members and non-members of the Primary Care Education Programme.
