In this session we will look at the key principles for effectively managing sickness absence of employees. This will include understanding the critical role of management conversations before, during and after a period of ill health and absence. We will explore the importance of the ‘return to work’ process in reducing the longer-term impact of health issues, and how making reasonable adjustments can be effective. Finally we will consider well-being, understanding the key pillars for maintaining personal well-being and resilience, and how we can support ourselves and our teams.
This course is aimed specifically at Practice Managers and Line Managers with people management responsibilities working in Primary Care in Cornwall (including line managers in Kernow Health CIC). It is a 90-minute virtual interactive session, with the emphasis around good/best practice and why these areas are important for a Line Manager to focus on. It is a useful refresher for those with experience and an introduction for new managers. You will receive a workbook to complete as part of the session which will include prompts for discussion during the session and any personal notes.
