Immunisation Foundation for Registered Health Care Professionals – 23rd September 2021


The Foundation Immunisation training is intended for those registered health care professionals who will be administering a range of vaccines within a primary care setting.

This training is a blended learning programme that consists of 2 MANDATORY components:

  • PRE-WORK (full details in the Course Profile) – this is an essential part of the training which provides the required knowledge across all areas of immunisation. You will be expected to draw upon this knowledge in the virtual seminar. It is your responsibility to ensure that the pre-work has been satisfactorily completed.
  • INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL SEMINAR (approx. 3 hours) – this session explores and builds upon the content covered in the pre-work. You will be expected to participate in quizzes, case study and scenario discussions with peers so you MUST have a working microphone.

You can start your pre-work at any time. Please view the Course Profile for details. You MUST complete all required pre-work and send certificates as proof of completion to kernowhealthcic.workforce@nhs.net at least 2 days before the interactive virtual seminar.

After the session, you will be expected to have competency documents signed in practice with an appropriately qualified assessor before being deemed competent to administer vaccines. This process will be discussed in the virtual session.

Course Cost

This course is funded if your Practice subscribes to the Primary Care Education Programme.

The cost of the course for NON Education Programme Members is £50.
