Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis & Management of COPD – Starting 27th January 2021

This module is suitable for healthcare professionals who are looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in COPD utilising the most up to date evidence-based guidance. Delivered through a combination of interactive e-learning hosted in Google Classroom, videos, case studies and live webinar sessions hosted by Google Meet.

Learning Outcomes

To be able to

  • Apply the latest COPD guidance
  • Understand the diagnostic criteria for a diagnosis
  • Identify the goals of COPD management
  • Understand the treatment options and tailor them to the patient
  • Optimise the non-pharmacological management options
  • Recognise patients at risk of exacerbation and hospital admission and how to address this, knowing when to refer
  • Provide a good quality review with support self-management

This whole module consisting of 3 units takes 6 weeks (2 weeks per unit). Following completion of all the elements, you will receive a certificate for 8 hours CPD.

Prior to attending each webinar, there is around 2 hours of e-learning to complete. 

It is essential to attend all 3 live webinars.

Unit 2 Webinar (Management): 10th February 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Case studies and Q&A for 1 hour

Unit 3 Webinar (Effective Annual Review): 24th February 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Course Cost

This course is funded if your Practice subscribes to the Primary Care Education Programme.

The cost of the course for NON Education Programme Members is £75.
