Team Members

Mark Woolcock Chief Executive Officer
Mark has held a variety of roles within this – and predecessor- organisations, initially joining as ‘Lead Clinician’ before taking the ‘Consultant Paramedic and Clinical Lead’ role. Throughout these times Mark has also worked as a clinician providing telephone triage and face to face visits either the patient’s own home or a treatment centre. Since June 2018 Mark has worked as the Chief Operating Officer of the ‘Integrated Urgent Care Service’ which encompasses the 111 telephony and the conventional Out of Hours GP service. In August 2020 he took over the role of Chief Executive Officer on a two year secondment.
Dr Jonathan Katz Medical Director
Dr Katz is currently KHCICs Medical Director. He has previously been the Deputy Medical Director and Chair of KHCIC. He is a senior Partner at Penryn Surgery and has been there for 23 years. He has a special interest in medicines management and is currently the Chair of the Cornwall Area Prescribing Committee and Cornwall Commissioning Prescribing Committee as well as a prescribing Lead GP for KCCG. He is a former Vice Chair of the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LMC. Dr Katz is also the senior trainer at Penryn Surgery and is a GP Appraiser with 15 years’ experience.
Maria Harvey Head of Integrated Community Care Services
Maria started her career in social care at Cornwall Council, where she worked for 25 years. She started that career as a Welfare Rights Officer and ended her Cornwall Council stint as Senior Manager for Commissioning, Contracts and Service Improvement. She joined Kernow Health CIC in 2016 as she was interested in the new challenges KHCIC were offering. She leads the School Immunisation Team, along with the Children’s Eating Disorder Service.
Laura Wheeler Head of Integrated Primary Care Services
Laura has worked locally and regionally with the Local Authority and many sectors of the NHS in the South West, including the Workforce Development Confederation and Strategic Health Authority. She has successfully implemented national strategies and programmes across multiple trusts in a collaborative way. Laura has been involved in a range of significant change programmes, from operational improvement and change management in designing and implementing needs-based workforce plans at scale, to strategic implementation of integrated care. Passionate about service improvement and integrated partnership working, Laura continues to support collaborative working locally and regionally in order to support Primary Care across Cornwall and a whole system approach to sustainable health and care.’
Tessa Goodchild IT Manager
A keen hiker and outdoor living sort of girl! Tess has spent the last 20 years in local government, working and managing teams in a business improvement/project management capacity always striving for better customer care and improved business efficiency. She has worked over the years on a number of business system implementation programmes and then jointed the NHS in 2017 working as a Project Manager for the Integrated System Wide programme. Tess joined KHCIC recently as the IT Manager, and is going to be an integral part of the Kernow Health CiC team over the next few years supporting our business to be the best that it can be!
