Dr Katz is a Partner at Penryn Surgery and has been with them for nearly 22 years. He has a particular interest in medicines management and is currently the Chair of the Cornwall Area Prescribing Committee and Cornwall Commissioning Prescribing Committee and was previously the Vice Chair of the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LMC. Dr Katz is the senior trainer at Penryn Surgery and has been a GP Appraiser for 12 years.
Medical Director (Carrick Cluster) & GP Partner Three Spires
Dr Andy May is based at the Three Spires Medical Practice in Truro. He first registered in 1990. He is registered for obstetric care, family planning and minor surgery. His special interests include dermatology and cardiology.
Carolyn joined Kernow Health CIC in September 2017 as the Head of Mobilisation for the Cornwall 111 Integrated Urgent Care Service. From the 1st of December 17 that role became Chief Operating Officer for Cornwall 111 and as of September 2018 Carolyn took over as the Chief Executive Officer. Carolyn has a strong background in Urgent Care through both NHS and non NHS healthcare providers. She also has ambulance, acute and community experience as well as having fulfilled the roles of Head of Contracts and Head of Business Development within different organisations
Director (Mid Cornwall Cluster) & GP Partner Roseland Surgeries
Dr Terese Tubman is a GP partner in the Roseland Surgeries and represents the Mid Cornwall area in Kernow Health. She has worked in General Practice in Australia and across Cornwall and is the Clinical Lead for the School Immunisation Service and Eating Disorder Service for Kernow Health.
Director (North Cluster) & GP Partner at Port Isaac Practice
Dr Malcolm Mckendrick has been a GP partner at the Port Isaac Practice for over 14years.He has been a board member on Kernow Health since its inception, and represents the views of colleagues in North Cornwall. He also sits on the board of the RMS.
Bridget Sampson is a registered pharmacist who has worked in the Primary Care Commissioning and Medicines Management arena for over 15 years. Bridget is currently the Managing Partner of St Austell Healthcare. In addition she is part of the NHS Employers Pharmacy Contract negotiating team.
Stephen Holby is Strategic Manager of Carn to Coast Health Centres (having seen through with GP partners the merger of Pool Health Centre and Homecroft Surgery in 2015). He is also Acting General Manager of Trevithick Surgery. An economist by background, Stephen worked in international banking in London & Budapest (where he opened an office for Barclays in 1991) before moving to Cornwall and joining Pool Health Centre in 2003.
Partner at Praze an Beeble Practice; Adam served in the British Army, played rugby for Cornwall and is currently an active member of Sennen Lifeboat Crew. He is also Chair of Mount’s Bay Medical, a Cornish Medical Research business.
David Sheppard is the Managing Partner at Rosedean House Surgery in East Cornwall and has worked in primary care for nineteen years within both general practice and a Primary Care Trust. Originally from outside the NHS, David has specialised in bringing commercial methods of operation to the practices he has managed as well as developing a consultancy service to work with other practices on specific HR, operational and financial management projects. David has worked extensively with Primary Care Commissioning Organisations, as well as being an Advisor to the Department of Health and is currently a member of NHS England’s QoF review team.
Senior Operations Manager
Maria joined Kernow Health in August 2016. She had worked for over 20 years at Cornwall Council in a variety of roles within Social Care, starting as Welfare Rights Officer and finishing as Senior Manager for Commissioning, Quality Assurance and Service Improvement. Maria will be working for Kernow Health as Senior Operations Manager.
Business Support Manager
Wendy Palmer, originally seconded to Kernow Health CIC from the NHS, is now employed full-time to provide back-office support to the organisation in order to help it to achieve its goals. Wendy has a wealth of experience that she has built up over a number of years both in the NHS and private sector which has been invaluable in helping the business to grow.
Business Support Administrator
Corinne joined the Kernow Health Team in January 2016, whilst studying for her Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration which she successfully completed and has now also completed her Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration. Corinne works closely with the Senior Management Team providing administrative support across the business. Previously she has worked for the Referral Management Service (RMS) and in the Optician Industry.
Business Quality and Assurance Manager
Laura started with Kernow Health in September 2016. Laura has worked in Cornwall Council for 14 years in various roles within the Business and Administrative Support of Adult Social Care. She will be working as Business & Quality Assurance Manager.
I M & T Lead
Lewis Joined Kernow Health in December 2017, transferring from the existing Out of Hours service. Lewis has over 5 years’ experience in the out of Hours setting, with a focus and passion for Operations and IT management. Lewis will lead the Information Management & Technology development for the organisation.
Service Lead Nurse
Michele has worked within General Practice at Probus Surgery for nearly the past 20 years as both a District Nurse and the Lead Practice Nurse.Her main interests in General Practice are Immunisations, Diabetes and Travel Health.Her role within the team is to be Service Nurse Lead for the School immunisation Delivery Service.
School Immunisation Programme Administrator
Nicola joined Kernow Health in March 2017 after relocating from South Wales. The last few years Nicola worked with St John Cymru Wales in various roles, most recently as a Voluntary Services Officer; providing support to all adult and youth volunteers. Nicola provides admin support to the School Immunisation Programme.
School Immunisation Programme Administrator
Lesley joined Kernow Health in December 2017. She previously worked for Cornwall Council for over 30 years in various administrator roles before leaving the Authority to take up the post of Nursery Administrator in a private children’s nursery. Lesley will provide administrative support to the Schools Immunisation Programme.
Strategic Practice Nurse Lead & CEPN Lead
Paul has worked in General Practice for over 30 years. In 2005 he was appointed as lead Practice Nurse for Cornwall. He has a longstanding interest in improving quality and developing people through good education and is a registered nurse tutor and level 5 coach. Paul has been responsible for a rolling programme of education in Cornish Primary Care and the development of a regional Practice Nursing resource website www.southwestpn.co.uk. This year he has been appointed Queens Nurse and project manager for the new Cornwall Community Education Provider Network (CEPN) which is tasked with addressing workforce sustainability and new role developments.
Project Support Officer - CEPN
Chris trained as a nurse, practicing both in the Royal Navy and NHS, although the majority of her career was spent within the pharmaceutical industry where she specialised as a clinical Research Nurse organising and conduction Clinical trials. She also worked in a number of different roles including patient & laboratory safety, and project support & training. Chris has joined Kernow Health in January 2017 to provide support to Paul Jeffrey working on the new Cornwall, Community Education Provider Network (CEPN).
